Another surfing spot in Luzon is situated in Baler, Aurora Province. It is best to go to Baler for surfing during amihan season or northeast monsoon that begins around November to May for best chances to catch good waves. Travel time from Manila can take you about 6 hours or more depending on traffic situations. There are a number of surfing spots in Baler alone but beginners usually go for Sabang Beach. After surfing, we managed to visit Balete Park which houses the 600-year old Balete Tree, considered the largest in Asia. It’s so big you can actually step in and look what it is inside.
We stayed in Dela Torre Beach House in Daguisit which is actually a beach front property. AC room good for 4 costs 2000 php.
